I was privileged to hear Giles Long MBE speak yesterday. Giles is a double Paralympic Gold Medallist in swimming – butterfly and he can only use one arm. Man, butterfly is the hardest stroke with two arms. Giles lost the use of one shoulder aged 13 through illness but he came through it. Check out his website for more info http://www.gileslong.com/ .
Parents and coaches there is a good mssage here. When Miles said to his parents and his coach “I am going to be an Olympic Gold Medallist” their response was not negative it was “How are you going to do that then?”
